Clannad is a japanese visual novel game by a software company named Key, who are also known for producing other titles such as Kanon, Air, Little Busters, and Planetarian. The gameplay involves reading text and choosing options to decide how the story plays out. Unlike Key's earlier titles, there is NO version of Clannad that features adult content. Earlier titles, respectively, have 'all-age' versions, which feature no adult content. The story revolves around the main character, Tomoya, who you play as in a first-person perspective. Through out the game you'll meet various characters who you have a chance to interact with and periodically get a chance to choose certain dialogue options to advance the plot in certain ways. As such, there are several endings in Clannad and individual play troughs take several, several hours. Clannad features engrossing characters and a plot with a lot of depth, making it well worth the time and effort. A fan-made english translation patch for Clannad IS available online. This version in particular is for the old version of Clannad which did not originally feature voice-overs. A Voice patch is available for this version.
